A 15-year-old boy killed Friday when the car he was riding in crashed into a tree in Tacoma’s Point Defiance Park has been identified as Alex Ramirez.

Police are still investigating the collision along Five Mile Drive. Alcohol is believed to have been involved.

It happened about 4:45 p.m. when a 17-year-old boy lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the driver, who was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, was speeding.

It’s unknown if the four teenagers inside the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
