The cause of a fire that destroyed a Lakewood home early Saturday is still being  investigated, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Crews responded about 2:55 a.m. to the fire in the 10100 block of Hemlock Street Southwest, near Fort Steilacoom Park.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured, according to West Pierce.

It’s not clear if there were working smoke alarms in the house, firefighters said.
