From news partner KIRO-TV:

An infant found dead Friday in a wooded area of Ocean Shores died from a blunt force injury to her head, the Grays Harbor coroner said today.

Police said it appears the child had been born recently somewhere else, and was later taken to the woods.

Police Chief Jeff Meyers of the Hoquiam Police Department said police had found a 21-year-old woman who they believe is the birth mother.

The Daily World of Aberdeen reported Saturday that investigators interviewed the woman and her boyfriend, and that the investigation was ongoing.

Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.

Further details were not immediately available.
