Prosecutors: Fife bride takes offense to husband wanting to date other women, exacts revenge

Sometimes the honeymoon phase wears off quickly.

That was the case for one Fife couple whose three-month marriage hit the rocks after the groom announced he wanted to date other women. The 23-year-old bride’s response was, well, a bit angry.

She allegedly sent him a text message at work saying, “I can’t wait for you to get home to see what I left.” The groom came home for lunch.

He told police when he walked in the door, his blushing bride held up a machete. He then saw that she slashed his belongings and poured chemicals on his clothing. He left their home and called police after she began cutting up the kitchen table.

Police said the apartment was “trashed” and that the bride left behind a note. Here’s what it said: “You broke my heart so I broke our stuff. You trashed me through the whole relationship so I trashed our stuff. You wanna date while you’re married… you got me (expletive) up.”

When officers tracked the bride to Lakewood, she allegedly admitted to the incident. Pierce County prosecutors have charged her with second-degree malicious mischief and said an assault charge with a weapon enhancement could follow.
