Bail was set at $1 million today for a third man suspected of being involved in the shooting death of a 42-year-old man at a Tacoma motel last week.

Damien Davis was ordered held while Pierce County prosecutors consider formal charges.

On Wednesday, co-defendants Daniel Davis, 25, and Marcus Reed, 24, made their initial appearances in Pierce County Superior Court and were ordered jailed in lieu of $1 million and $2 million bail, respectively.

Police declined to say how the men were involved in the death of Donald Phily, who was found shot early Friday at the Morgan Motel on Pacific Avenue. Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool described the homicide as a robbery that went wrong.

Reed is believed to be the shooter. Detectives are still searching for a fourth suspect.
