Tacoma police have detained a man suspected of robbing the Key Bank branch this afternoon.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said a man walked into the branch at South 11th and South L just before 5 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash. He then fled on foot.

Officers swarmed the area and spotted a man resembling the robber at South 19th and South Cedar about an hour ago, she said.  They detained him and another person at that intersection, which remains blocked off at this time.
