“Blood bath” threat made to Kentwood High School; students being dismissed early

Kentwood High School in Covington was dismissed at 10:15 a.m. this morning after receiving an emailed threat of a “hostage take-over and blood bath,” King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindi West said.

Several deputies and police dogs are searching the school campus.

West said it looks like a former student hacked into another former student’s email account and sent the threat. Kent police are helping to identify the suspect.

A message from Kentwood High School was sent to parents, informing them of the voluntary early dismissal. Parents are asked to pick up their children from the senior parking lot while students who ride buses to school will be dropped at their normal stops.
