Deputies have arrested a man they say stabbed a Spanaway woman while posing as a deliveryman at her home in October, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said today.

Details about how detectives found and arrested the 40-year-old man Saturday were not immediately available.

Deputies had previously said a man dressed in a brown uniform and carrying a box broke into the 57-year-old woman’s home in the 19600 block of 15th Avenue Court East, stabbed her, tied her up, and took off in her car just before 10 a.m. Oct. 19.

The woman managed to get to a neighbor’s house to ask for help while her hands and feet were bound, deputies said. She was taken to a hospital and was initially listed in critical condition from her injuries. She was stable days later.

The News Tribune generally does not identify suspects until they have been formally charged with a crime.
