Local clergy will gather today for a brief spiritual ceremony to honor a Spanaway woman allegedly killed by her estranged husband at a Tacoma motel last week.

Pierce County sheriff’s detectives discovered Sara Barrett’s body March 13 at Motel 6, 1811 S. 76th St. Her husband, Tony Barrett, has been charged with her slaying.

This morning’s Moment of Blessing will be held at 10 a.m.outside the motel.

The public is welcome.

The Associated Ministries sponsors the Moment of Blessing ceremonies at locations in Pierce County where homicides have occurred. The ceremonies are intended to provide support for the victims’ families, friends and the community where the crime took place.
