A family of four was displaced this morning after their Kent apartment was seriously damaged by a fire that started about 3 a.m.

Firefighters saw smoke and flames from the first-story unit in the 23900 block of 60 Avenue South and aggressively attacked the flames, containing the blaze within minutes. The crew then checked for hot spots to ensure the fire had not spread to other apartments in the building.

No one was injured. The apartment manager was able to place the family in a different apartment for the time being.
