Tacoma firefighters are investigating a possible kitchen fire at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma that sent light smoke into two floors.

Smoke was reported shortly before 10 a.m. at the hospital, 1717 South J St.

A spokesman for the department said no patients have been evacuated. The smoke came from the HVAC system and normal cooking operations in the kitchen.
