Fire crews working to rescue pair from car that went over embankment between I-5, I-705 in Tacoma

Crews are working to rescue two people from a vehicle that went over an embankment between Interstate 705 and Interstate 5, according to Tacoma Fire.

It appears the car was driving on I-705, heading to southbound I-5, when it went over the embankment, according to Tacoma Fire. Crews were called to the scene at 9 p.m.

Other patients were able to remove themselves from the vehicle and walk out, according to Tacoma Fire, but it wasn’t clear how many.

Injuries of the two patients stuck in the vehicle are still being evaluated, but initially didn’t appear to be serious, according to Tacoma Fire.

No other vehicles appear to be involved, according to Tacoma Fire.
