A semi-truck carrying 50 gallons of acetone lost control and struck a sign on state Route 167 in Kent early this morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision occurred about 12:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of SR 167  just north of South 212th Street.

Troopers said the 39-year-old driver hit the sign and damaged the trailer carrying the hazardous material, which was carefully loaded onto another trailer before the semi was towed.

It did not appear that any acetone leaked during the accident.
