A man who crashed his motorcycle on a freeway off-ramp in Olympia Saturday night is suspected of driving while impaired by drugs, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The single-vehicle wreck, which occurred shortly before 9 p.m. off southbound Interstate 5 at Exit 105, resulted in  non-fatal injuries, State Patrol dispatchers reported Saturday.

“An adult male was transported to a local hospital with injuries,” State Patrol spokesman Trooper Guy Gill tweeted about 9:15 p.m. Saturday.  “Our investigation reveals that the rider is DUI.”

Troopers shut down part of the off-ramp Saturday to investigate the motorcycle crash.

“The ramp from SB I-5 to exit 105 is now blocked while we take some measurements,” Gill tweeted about 9:10 p.m. “It will be re-opened shortly.”

The unidentified motorcyclist was being treated at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia late Saturday. Authorities were awaiting test results on blood drawn from the man, Gill said.
