UPDATE as of 4:46 p.m.: The home is a total loss, Stephens reports. Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
UPDATE as of 2:24 p.m.: Firefighters have doused the flames but are still working to put out hot spots on the house.
“They haven’t been able to get inside to do any investigation at this time,” Stephens said.
The property owners are out of state. Their adult son, who lives on the property, was not inside the home when it caught fire.
No injuries were reported.
INITIAL POST: Central Pierce firefighters are battling a fully involved house fire in Parkland, according to Assistant Chief Randy Stephens.
The blaze was reported about 1:20 p.m. in the 3200 block of 140th Street Court East.
