A man who suffered a medical condition lost control of his pickup tonight and collided with a Link train in downtown Tacoma.
The pickup’s driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to a local hospital following the wreck. Police said it appeared he had a seizure before losing control. He was expected to survive. No one on the train was hurt.
The collision occurred about 7:20 p.m. in the 100 block of South 25th Street.
The pickup was headed east when it struck the train. Two passengers and the train’s operator were aboard, Sound Transit officials said. They declined medical attention.
Damage to the train was light, and a Sound Transit supervisor drove it away from the scene.
