Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find a man who they say fled the courthouse in downtown Tacoma last week after his verdict was read.

Leroy Scott,  33, was in Pierce County Superior Court Wednesday, after he was charged with attempting to elude a police vehicle and third-degree driving while in suspended or revoked status.

He was out on $10,000 bail at the time.

When his verdict was read, Scott struggled with an officer who tried to detain him and fled the courthouse, Pierce County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jerry Bates said.

Scott is described as a 6-foot-1, 210-pound black man, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Scott is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959. Tips are anonymous.
