A Bonney Lake man is accused of setting up a hidden camera in the bathroom of a house where a party was held and recording four people using the toilet.

Pierce County prosecutors have charged him with four counts of voyeurism. He has not been arrested or entered a plea to the charges.

One of the victims called police July 29, the day after finding a camera concealed in a towel on the bathroom counter. After reviewing the footage, officers identified two men and two women who had been filmed. The footage also showed a man with a handlebar mustache setting up the camera.

The suspected voyeur called one of the victims and left him a voicemail saying he’d never done anything like that before but “I went through with it and it was the worst thing that I could have ever done,” according to charging papers.

The suspected voyeur’s wife also called the victims and asked them not to report the incident.
