A passerby pinned a suspected car prowler to the ground after witnessing him shove a woman who confronted the prowler after finding him inside her SUV, Tacoma police said.
The incident occurred about 11 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of South 38th Street.
A 42-year-old woman inside an establishment spotted the prowler near her Ford Explorer and went outside to investigate. After finding him in her front seat, the victim confronted him and tried to reclaim her property.
The prowler allegedly shoved the woman, drawing attention from a nearby man.
The man pinned the 42-year-old suspect until police arrived. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle prowl and assault.
