A 45-year-old man who was riding in a vehicle fleeing Auburn police on Interstate 5 earlier this month has died from injuries suffered in the accident, according to the Washington State Patrol.
He was identified as Victor Wilson.
The pursuit started just before midnight Feb. 4 when Auburn police began chasing a stolen 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo down southbound I-5 from just south of the Federal Way scales to just south of Port of Tacoma Road, where the 22-year-old driver lost control.
The driver swerved, crossed all lanes and went into the median, where he hit the cable barrier, according to the State Patrol. Both he and Wilson were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the car.
No charges have yet been filed against the driver.
