A 26-year-old man wanted since May for allegedly shooting at his brother and ex-girlfriend outside a Lakewood apartment complex is now in custody.
Police, assisted by federal agents, arrested the man Friday at a Lakewood hotel. Officers first spotted him in a vehicle and pulled him over but he fled on foot. Hours later, police located him in a hotel in the 8700 block of Hosmer Street.
A gun and drugs were also found in the hotel room, Lakewood police Lt. Chris Lawler said.
Pierce County prosecutors charged him in August with two counts of second-degree assault with firearm and domestic violence enhancements. A warrant for his arrest was issued in September.
The shooting occurred May 22 in the 10200 block of Kline Street Southwest.
The man confronted his brother and ex-girlfriend inside her car and demanded his brother get out of the vehicle, according to charging papers.
The brothers fought and the defendant allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired two shots. One hit the front fender and the other skipped off the hood.
No one was injured.
