With another cold front moving into the region overnight, forecasters have issued a winter storm warning for another foot of snow in the Cascades.
The warning is in effect until 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Rain is expected in the lowlands and another 6 to 12 inches of powder are forecast for the Cascades above 2,000 feet.
Park rangers said they will not open the gate to Paradise today in Mount Rainier National Park.
Most of the snow will fall around Stevens Pass, the Weather Service said.
In Tacoma, today’s high is 49 with winds between 18 to 22 miles per hour. Gusts could get up to 30 mph, forecasters said.
