A fire that forced the evacuation of a Tacoma apartment complex Thursday caused $18,000 in damages, according to the Fire Department.
Crews responded about 4:30 p.m. to the Cedar Court apartment complex, 3005 South 47th St., and found heavy smoke coming from a second floor unit. They were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators said the blaze was caused by something accidentally left on the stove.
