Elderly woman robbed of jackpot outside Fife casino

He watched the elderly woman win a $2,000 jackpot at a Fife casino and followed her outside.

As she tried to get into the passenger seat of her daughter’s car, the man allegedly grabbed her purse and yanked. She injured the back of her head, left arm and shoulder before finally letting go.

The victim, who is in her 80s, was able to identify her attacker in a photo montage. Pierce County prosecutors have charged the 25-year-old man with first-degree robbery for the Feb. 8 attack.

“The victim stated at one point in the casino she felt sorry for the defendant and she thought about giving him money for a meal,” according to charging papers.

A warrant is being sought for the man’s arrest.
