Kent fireInvestigators are still trying to determine what started a fire in a Kent motel room that killed a man Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the Sunset Motel, 25006 Pacific Highway South, about 7 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames spreading from one room to several others.

They were able to extinguish the blaze quickly and found the man’s remains while searching the rooms. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified the man.

No other injuries were reported. The Red Cross is helping seven tenants who were displaced by the fire.
