A 42-year-old Auburn man who died early Wednesday in a motorcycle crash has been identified as Aaron T. Lane.

The crash happened about 3:45 a.m. in the 4500 block of Ruston Way in Tacoma.

Lake was traveling north on Ruston Way when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and hit a curb, police said. He was thrown from his bike, which slid about 110 feet across the pavement before coming to rest.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said it’s unclear what caused Lane to lost control but speed was not a factor. A witness estimated he was driving about 35 miles per hour.
