Nursing assistant accused of abusing “vulnerable” adults

A nursing assistant is barred from working with vulnerable adults after the state Department of Social and Health Services found him guilty of abusing four adults over an eight-year span.

Cody Burnett was charged with unprofessional conduct for the alleged abuse, which occurred at a Pierce County facility between 2002 and 2010.

Records show Burnett “routinely yelled at the residents… and punished them by taking away their personal items and sending them to their rooms.”

He earned his nursing assistant credential in March 1999.
