A drive-by shooting overnight happened outside a business in the 8600 block of South Hosmer Street, according to Tacoma police.

Officers said several suspects entered the business and were asked to leave by workers there.

When the suspects didn’t go, the workers called police.

Before officers arrived, shots were fired from a vehicle outside and multiple people inside the business fled in different vehicles, according to police.

Officers found one of the fleeing suspect vehicles parked outside a residence in the 7400 block of Cushman Avenue, they said.

The people there were detained, interviewed, identified and released. No one was injured, and none of the people questioned said they were the victims of a crime, officers said.

Evidence was taken from the scene at South Hosmer.
