The Washington State Patrol is looking for anyone who may have witnessed a police pursuit that ended in a crash on Interstate 5 near Port of Tacoma Road late Monday.

Auburn police chased a stolen Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the southbound lanes of I-5 from just south of the Federal Way scales until the driver lost control just south of Port of Tacoma Road.

The driver swerved, crossed all lanes and went into the median, where he hit the cable barrier, the WSP reported. Both he and his passenger were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the car.

They were listed in serious condition after the wreck, which occurred about 11:40 p.m. Monday.

Witnesses can call Detective Sergeant Jerry Cooper at 360-805-1192 or Detective Mike Bassett at 253-538-3170.
