King County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred this afternoon at a park near Federal Way.

A 22-year-old man called 911 about 11:35 a.m. and told dispatchers he had been stabbed while at Camelot Park, 29400 45th Place South. He claimed the suspect ran into a wooded area of the park.

As a precaution, Thomas Jefferson High School and Camelot Elementary School were placed on lockdown while detectives searched the area for the suspect.

A helicopter is assisting in the search for the suspect.

The victim is being uncooperative and refused to name the suspect, Deputy Charlie Akers said. The victim then allegedly changed his story and said he fell on his own knife.
