A candlelight vigil will be held in Graham this evening to remember 7-year-old Charlie and 5-year-old Braden Powell on the anniversary of their deaths.

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at 8119 189th St. Court E. It will be held in the lot that once housed the home Josh Powell rented to spend time with his sons during supervised visits.

A year ago, Powell blocked a social worker from entering the house, attacked his sons with a machete and lit the house on fire. The blast killed the boys and Powell.

Attendees are asked to bring a candle and park in the back of the lot so as not to disturb neighbors.

Another vigil will be held tonight in West Valley City, Utah, where the Powell family lived before returning to Puyallup after the boys’ mother, Susan Cox Powell, went missing. Josh Powell was a person of interest in the homicide investigation before he killed himself and his boys.
