An alleged child abduction in Kent this morning appears to be a dispute between the boy’s two babysitters, Assistant Police Chief Pat Lowery said.
Police were notified about 10:30 a.m. that a woman had taken the boy at gunpoint from the babysitter.
Turns out, the child’s mother knew he was with the woman.
The investigation is now focused on the woman who reported the alleged kidnapping.
“We presently have detectives interviewing the reporting party in an effort to determine what the scope of their confrontation was and whether there was actually a weapon involved,” Lowery said.
The boy was not injured.
