Firefighters investigating hazardous materials spill at PLU

UPDATE as of 9:16 p.m.: Hazmat crews calling it a night after finding nothing, Stephens reports.

UPDATE as of 9:08 p.m.: A search of the storage room revealed nothing, Stephens said. Crews moving to other parts of the building now.

PREVIOUS POST: Hazmat crews from Central Pierce Fire & Rescue are on the scene of a chemical spill at Pacific Lutheran University.

The spill is in a storage room in a campus science building, according to a tweet from assistant chief Randy Stephens.

The building has been evacuated. There are no injuries reported.
