UPDATE as of 8:53 a.m.: The power is still out in 30 Lakewood households, TPU said.

Crews are continuing to work on restoring power.

“Hang in there, we’re doing our best!” the agency tweeted.

INITIAL POST: About 400 people in Lakewood are still without power this morning, according to Tacoma Public Utilities.

A pole fire caused outages for roughly 1,000 customers in Pierce County Wednesday night, and TPU crews worked through the night to restore electricity.

All power should be back on by 8 a.m., TPU reported.
