School employees returned to a Graham elementary school one Monday morning and noticed three missing parking signs and nine shattered windows.

Video surveillance from the Jan. 4 incident showed four young men vandalizing Rocky Ridge Elementary School. A school employee recognized Brandon Grammer, who is charged with second-degree malicious mischief and third-degree theft.

The 18-year-old Spanaway man pleaded not guilty to both counts Tuesday and was jailed in lieu of $5,000.

Pierce County prosecutors said he could face additional charges in an unrelated vandalism case.

Grammer allegedly told investigators who helped him break the windows and steal the signs, but sheriff’s deputies have not yet positively identified them.

Damages to the school are estimated at $1,500.
