Basement fire suspicious, according to Tacoma Fire

Crews responded just after 7 p.m. to a basement fire at a house near South 36th Street and South Sheridan Avenue in Tacoma.

It appeared that the fire started from the exterior of the home, according to Tacoma Fire.

Fire inspectors will notify police that the blaze is suspicious, Fire officials said.

No one was hurt in the fire, which took crews about 30 minutes to get under control.

No residents appeared to be home at the time, according to Tacoma Fire.
