UPDATE: The plane seems to have lost power, and as the pilot attempted to land on the road, flipped, State Patrol trooper Russ Winger said.

Deputies are heading to the site of a reported plane crash about 17 miles west of Shelton along West Shelton-Matlock Road, according to Mason County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dean Byrd.

The pilot doesn’t appear to be injured, but deputies are on their way to the crash, and have not yet confirmed the report, Byrd said.

Further details were not immediately available. Check back for updates.
