tree vs truckA man is in critical condition after losing control of his truck and slamming into a tree in Kent, according to the Kent Fire Department.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. in the 23800 block of 64th Avenue South. Department spokesman Kyle Ohashi said the man was traveling south when he lost control, hit another vehicle and struck the tree “at high speed.”

The other driver was shaken up but not injured.

It’s unclear what caused the man to lose control of his truck.

Police have closed 64th Avenue South between James Street and 236th Street while they investigate.
