UPDATED: One injured when vehicle crashes into building in Milton

UPDATE as of 4:44 p.m. Milton police and Puyallup tribal police responded to the crash, according to tribal spokesman John Weymer. The crash is still being investigated, he said. It appears the car sideswiped the building, where a tribal business is located, he said.

UPDATE as of 3:41 p.m. The driver is the patient being treated for non life-threatening injuries, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue. The car hit another vehicle before hitting the building, which did not sustain significant damage, according to East Pierce.

INITIAL POST: Crews are treating one patient and a driver is in custody after a vehicle crashed into a building in Milton this afternoon, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.

The crash happened in the 8200 block of Pacific Highway East.

The driver reportedly fled on foot, and was taken into custody, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.
