UPDATE as of 8:27 p.m. The assault appears to be a drug deal gone bad, according to Bonney Lake police. It’s not clear what, if anything, was taken during the attack, officers said. The K9 track has been suspended. One suspect is further described as a 17- to 18-year-old man, 5 foot 8, 140 pounds, with dark hair and red hoops in his ear lobes.

INITIAL POST: Officers are investigating a robbery that happened this evening in the wooded area in the 21400 block of state Route 410, according to Bonney Lake police.

They believe a machete was used, and one victim is being treated for a non life-threatening hand laceration and possible broken arm, according to police.

Two suspects, white men about 18-years-old, were last seen in the woods behind a nearby grocery store.

One of the suspects has blonde hair and was wearing red and white Nike shoes, and the other has brown hair and was wearing gray basketball shorts and long earrings, according to police.

Officers ask that anyone who sees someone matching either of those descriptions call 911 and not attempt to apprehend them.

The motive for the robbery wasn’t clear, officers said.

A K9 crew is tracking in the area, according to police.

Further details were not immediately available. Check back for updates.
