Vacant house catches fire in Parkland

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews quickly got the upper hand on a fire that broke out at a vacant home in Parkland today, Assistant Chief Randy Stephens said.

The blaze was reported about 12:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Violet Meadows Street South. Flames were under control within 10 minutes.

A cause has not been determined. Crews are still on scene.
