Alcohol was involved in a Monday night accident that caused one woman to drive 75 feet down an embankment in Tacoma and flip her vehicle, police said.

The crash occurred about 8:20 p.m. near the Delin Bridge between South Tacoma Way and Center Street. Fire crews responded and pulled the driver and a female passenger from the vehicle, which landed upside down.

Witnesses said the woman did not make a slight curve in the road. Instead, she continued straight and went through a chain link fence before toppling down the embankment.

The conditions of the woman and her passenger are unknown.
