A man threatened to stab an employee at the Fife Jiffy Lube with a knife today when the worker tried to stop him from leaving the store with three air filters he had not paid for, according to Fife police.

Officers responded to the store about 1:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of Pacific Highway East.

An officer stopped a man matching the suspect’s description close to the business.

The man threw what he was carrying under vehicles in the area and turned to the officer and threatened to assault him, according to police.

The suspect was taken into custody.
