A Washington State Trooper was injured in Federal Way this morning after losing control of his motorcycle while trying to pull over a driver, according to the State Patrol.

The trooper, a 45-year-old Maple Valley man, was riding his motorcycle north on Interstate 5 near state Route 18 when he spotted a traffic violator about 8 a.m., lost control of his bike and laid down the 2009 Honda ST1300 on the shoulder of the freeway.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital with unknown injuries.
