Man walks onto highway near Bremerton, gets hit by car

A 45-year-old Bremerton man was injured Monday night when he was struck by a car on northbound state Route 303 near Bremerton.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the man walked onto the highway around 9 p.m. and was struck by a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by a 45-year-old woman from Bremerton. The man was taken to Tacoma General Hospital; the woman was not injured.

The State Patrol reports the cause of the accident as “pedestrian in roadway” and says the driver will not be charged.
