A large underage drinking party ended in arrest overnight, after one person pulled a handgun and threatened to kill others at the gathering, according to Tacoma police.

The suspect made the threats because he was offended by something someone had said at the party in the 3300 block of North Whitman Street, police said.

Others at the party initially managed to get the gun away from him, but he regained control, according to police.

Witnesses identified the suspect to officers when they arrived, and he was detained without incident, police said.

He was arrested for investigation of assault.
