A State Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital with minor injuries last night after being hit by another car on the southern border of Kent.

The trooper was exiting northbound state Route 167 to 277th Street about 8:25 p.m., when a silver 2008 Chevrolet Aveo heading east on 277th ran a stop light and hit her, according to the State Patrol.

The cause is under investigation and charges are pending, troopers say.

Drugs or alcohol were not involved, they said.
