A man pleaded not guilty Christmas Eve to threatening to blow up the Lakewood Department of Corrections office.

Emil Herman Haag, 52, was charged with intimidation or harassment with an explosive.

Lakewood police responded Dec. 21 to the DOC office in the 10100 block of South Tacoma Way, after employees found what was later determined to be a fake bomb in the lobby, and two others were found buried outside.

Haag went up to employees during the investigation and told them he had planted the devices and that he would bring dynamite the next time he went to Lakewood Municipal Court and “blow the f—ing place up,” according to court documents.

He used to be under DOC supervision and had been kicked out of the office the day before, the records show.

The court set Haag’s bail at $250,000.
