Shots were fired in what may have been an attempted carjacking overnight Saturday, according to Tacoma police.

A homeowner pulled into his driveway in the 4300 block of East G Street, when a white Chevy Blazer pulled up next to him, and the man driving asked the homeowner what time it was, police said.

While the homeowner was looking at his watch, the suspect punched him several times, officers said.

The victim then returned to his vehicle and started honking the horn, at which point the suspect fired several rounds, which hit the victim’s car, according to police.

No one was injured and the suspect fled, officers said.
