Puyallup police arrested two men suspected of robbing a store and leading officers on a short pursuit Monday night.

The incident started about 11:15 p.m. at the South Hill Pit Stop Express Mart, 801 South Hill Park Dr.

Police said a 47-year-old Sumner man wearing a ski mask walking into the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. He then fled to a waiting car driven by a 42-year-old Sumner man.

The clerk called 911 and described the armed man and the vehicle to dispatchers. A responding officer spotted the car and followed it onto the eastbound state Route 512 on-ramp from 31st Avenue Southwest.

Police stopped the car and arrested both men on multiple charges. Capt. Scott Engle said both men are felons.
